Representatives from 43 counties and cities from 15 provinces (cities, districts) across the country gathered in Xinchang to exchange and discuss county and city science and technology innovation and entrepreneurship. Xinchang County has also been successively rated as the National New-type Industrialization Demonstration Base and the National Scientific and Technological Progress Demonstration County, and has been ranked among the top ten in the comprehensive evaluation of Zhejiang Province's industrially strong counties for three consecutive years. In December last year, Xinchang County was officially approved by the Zhejiang Provincial Government as the only county-level comprehensive scientific and technological system reform pilot county in the province.

According to the data, in 2014, the main science and technology indicators of Xinchang County ranked the forefront of Zhejiang Province: the output value rate of new products was 50.89%, ranking first in the province; research and experimental development expenditures accounted for 4.09% of GDP, ranking second in the province; science and technology investment The comprehensive evaluation ranks second in the province.
